The Province now has 90-odd service outsourcing companies. Jinan was named "The Base City of Service Outsourcing in China" at the end of 2006.
A good number of leading hi-tech companies are based in Shandong. Qilu Software Park and Qingdao Software Park are certified as "Pilot Software Export Base for the United States and the European Union".
