When only a young child, Eva Mozes Kor and her twin sister Miriam were separated from the rest of their family and subjected to cruel medical experiments by the infamous Dr. Josef Mengele. By the time the internment camps were liberated, Eva and Mirian were the only survivors in their family. A beautiful woman, Eva displays an amazing strength of character and grace throughout the retelling of her story. And it is within her amazing story that the beauty and strength of this film exists. The cinematography is not only adequate, but it captures a depth in the face of Mrs. Kor, her husband, her children, and her fellow survivors of the camps. The current life of a realtor is contrasted with the child she was, the historical significance of what she knows in the cells of her body. The amazing cruelty and callousness with which humans are capable of treating even little children never fails to astound even the hardened viewer to historical events. This is a personal journey about a very public series of events, well worth the time to view. It is about the human capacity for good and evil, and as such, will make you think. Uplifting and rewarding.

Eva Kor's Story is the Strength in this Documentary
Upon meeting Dr. Munch [link widoczny dla zalogowanych], Eva was shocked to learn that when a young (23 year old) SS officer, Dr. Munch had ongoing nightmares about Auschwitz. Eva had no idea then that any German cared about what was happening and had happened to people like her. Dr. Munch had a reputation for trying to save lives when he could, so Eva went to visit him. What happened during that visit allowed her to invite him to the anniversary celebration of the liberation of the camps. But not all the survivors, nor all the surviving Mengele twins, were in agreement with Eva's stance on forgiveness. Some were very angry not only at the German people, but at Eva herself. But she never wavers is her stance and only feels pity for her fellow survivors that are unable to forgive and heal.
