Come up with more creative ideas to decorate rustic clay pots to use as candle holders. And remember this important safety rule: never leave a burning candle unattended.
Dried flower or pinecone wreaths make lovely rustic candle holders and centerpieces for the Fall and Winter months.
Terra cotta clay pots of all sizes, odds and ends, and glue are what are needed to make lovely candle holders with a sense of charm. Push some clay into the bottom of the clay pot to hold the candle in place.
All of the crafts supplies needed for this project are easy find and available at hardware and garden supply store, or crafts stores,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], or online. Materials needed include:

Cut the floral foam so that it fits inside the clay pot.Push a little clay around the edges to hold the foam sturdy.Take small bunches of dried flowers and tie them together with florist wire.Stick the end of the florist wire into the foam.Optional: wrap a little bit of florist wire around a piece of pinecone, and push the other end of the florist wire into the foam. The wire should not be visible.
Buttons. Use a glue gun and place a small dab of hot glue per button. Glue buttons around the rim of the clay pot. Group buttons together for different themes, for example: wood buttons on one pot, diamond or square shaped buttons on another, etc.Raffia bows. Take a small bunch of raffia strands and tie the around the clay pot with a big bow. Use the hot glue gun at a few strategic points to hold the raffia on securely.Beads. Clay beads give another sense and feel to the clay pot candle holder. Use beads that are as tall as the rim of the clay pot.Twine. Use craft glue,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], instead of a glue gun for this effect. Hemp twine works well in this project. Paint white glue with a stiff,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], flat paintbrush or plastic glue spreader around a section of clay pot. Wrap the twine repeatedly around the pot in the glue to cover. Repeat until the entire pot is covered with twine.Seed beads. Paint on craft glue for this project, as well. Paint only on the rim of the clay pot. Roll the glued section in seed beads, press gently,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], and let dry.
Start with clay pots that have a circumference on the bottom a little wider than the pillar candles that will sit in them. Flowers that work well include stattice, eucalyptus, oat grasses, lavender, and any dried flowers and grasses.
Pillar Candle Holders With Wreaths
