With no signs that the Gallagher brothers were looking to resolve the events that occurred on 28th August 2009 it looked as if those clinging on to hopes were going to be disappointed. Whilst Oasis looks likely to be over as a band it still lives on through the Gallagher brothers' new projects, Liam's Beady Eye and Noel's solo work. Fans have been treated to one last piece of Oasis though as Time Flies... 1994-2009, a compilation of Oasis' singles and greatest hits was released on 14th June 2010. The two disk celebration of a generation's soundtrack includes 26 tracks and also to the joy of many fans on Oasis' Community Forum, a secret hidden track at the end of disk two, 'Sunday Morning Call'.
The album went to number one spot in the charts the week it went on sale as reported by NME but as John Doran notes on the BBC's website, not all reviews speak highly of Oasis' last release. The compilation album comes in five different versions, the two CD version, the DVD, the Deluxe Box Set [link widoczny dla zalogowanych], the five LP Box Set and the iTunes Deluxe Edition. The compilation definitely holds the soundtrack to a generation as many young adults grew up listening to Oasis and will forever look back at this time with a smile and continue to listen to their tracks. As reported on various sites including The Sun Liam's new band, known as Beady Eye, will be made up of Liam Gallagher, Gem Archer, Andy Bell and Chris Sharrock. Gorillaz member Jeff Wootton and Jay Darlington have also been linked to the group following reports on websites including Gigwise and NME. Some feared that this may have been the end of the band some say created the soundtrack to a generation, Oasis.
As it turned out those who thought this was the final nail in the coffin of Oasis were sadly right, two hours later on 28th August 2009 Noel Gallager issued a statement on the band's official website stating "I quit Oasis tonight." Reports that the Gallagher brothers had fought backstage involving Liam smashing Noel's guitar began to surface including a report from the Times Online and it looked very likely that the rocky relationship between the two had hit boiling point. As fans were left feeling confused and upset the hope that the band would reform looked more unlikely as each day passed.
